Roe’s departure was instructed by comments made by the new chairman of Never Back Down’s board, Scott Wagner, a DeSantis appointee in Florida. Wagner had identified to The Washington Post the reasoning behind the dismissal of the earlier chief executive and two others – all formerly working under Roe – alleging “mismanagement and conduct issues” and “numerous unauthorized leaks.”
