I feel like I was taught this in elementary school.
Younger dryas
I thought this was widely accepted. We overhunted and killed off the megafauna. Now only the bison remains of that group of large animals.
Nope. This is referring to the die off about 10 to 50 thousand years ago in the younger dryas period. The theory that people killed off the mammoths is ridiculous. To many of them. Too few people. They would have to have an advanced civilization to even attempt it. There would be evidence everywhere.

Those are "noble savages"! How DARE they blame indigenous people!! They had to eat too.
If you think of something more recent there was the buffalo slaughter in the 1800's. There used to be herds as far as the eye could see. Perhaps in 10 thousand years they will blame it on climate change.
