Just noticed, nice username. I have 2 myself. In fact, when I got them in 1995, J&R Music World sent me 1200s. I was SOOOOO annoyed but so ready for them I was on the fence about returning. Needless to say I made the correct decision....
Yep I've never owned CD decks let alone a controller. Rane Empath still going strong too. Have you heard about/heard/got Concorde Elites? If you don't scratch (or play a lot/need to replace frequently) the fidelity jump is worth the extra cost.

I do scratch. A lot. Using Ortofon VNLs. Have other Concordes on the 1200s, I can't remember the stylus types.
Ah gotcha, then (like any ellipticals) the Elites aren't made for that.
I have a receiver, but Mitsubishi speakers. They were a gift.
