Yeah, I was considering getting some of my family members together and crossing the Delaware together in memory of George Washington. Just something weird to do as a family but fun.
I’ve actually considered joining the DAR in my area. The only way you can join is it through your birth, right, or having a family member, who actually fight in the war. So I would have to provide papers, but my uncle has a copy of that genealogy, and I’m sure there’s a record of her being the president of the DAR in Studio City.
the DAR sounds like a lot of fun & really interesting, think I would try if I were you:) and it didn't look too difficult to join, but I also have extra time for such things. I looked at the website & was hoping I could find some relatives, but don't think my family was here for the revolutionary war, had a great grandpa, was in the Civil War, but can't find anything earlier. but I'm adopted too, so makes it more difficult to search.
that's awesome! I'm a huge George Washington fan🇺🇸 & I see a lot of DAR references on signs around monuments, literature, etc. think those ladies have been dropping hints for decades. if you haven't seen it, you need to check out the https://www.mountvernon.org site, So much info on GW.
