Interesting.... I wonder if this has anything to do with the recently released FBI files about Pearl Harbor...Akagi was one of the Japanese carriers that participated in the attack, along with Kaga, Soryu, Hiryu, Shokatu, and Zuikaku.
Akagi was first commanded by future Japanese Commander in Chief during WWII, Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.
The Akagi being involved in the start ot WWII for America with the Pearl Harbor attack, and then being sunk (scuttled) due to the Battle of Midway, the clear turning point in WWII, seems like a pretty big deal to me.
It's fun to see how history interfaces with the present.
