This is banana republic stuff, the USA has fallen. I'm not sure there is any way back from this - the cops can tell if you think the wrong thing, but they can't track a phone call? Improbable.

This is the regime gestapo turning up to do a reminder that opposition is not allowed in dictatorships.

10 years ago I would never have believed that the US would be lost like this, I don't think there is any hope for any of the former Western democracies any more. My great hope was the the US republic would survive - it's going to take something miraculous now.
