Funny you say that, I was happy to see that in one of the live streams there were comments of people saying its a 人工地震. From my limited understanding it sounds like artificial earthquake. Is that what they are saying? There were arguments - one guy calling this guy an ignorant person and another guy calling that guy in turn an ignoratn person for not understanding this stuff. I am hoping these are signs of a waking up population, and hopefully you cant slip one past humanity anymore.
Yes. 人工地震 (jinkou jishin) would be a "man-made earthquake." Actually, what's very weird is that a couple of years ago, there was one earthquake pretty close to me that was just a big BOOM. One big jolt and that was it. It didn't rattle, just one jolt and then was silent. No aftershocks. That was pretty weird. Makes me think of the story of the earthquake machine supposedly in Antarctica.
Last night, NHK news took at least 4-5 minutes covering "fake information" spreading on X about the earthquake being man-made. ORLY? The fact that the mainstream news devoted so much attention to this makes me wonder if there is some truth to it.
It was a mag 4 or so where I live in central Japan. It really rattled us for quite a while and my cell phone's alarm sounded. Some stuff fell off of shelves, but nothing broke, fortunately. Several aftershocks too.
