I was at a Texas Longhorns football game about 10-15 years ago around Veterans Day, sitting in my old season ticket seats with my daughter. The flyover was a B2. Our seats were one down from the top row on the west side, and the plane came in west to east. It was very low and very quiet. Freaked a bunch of the older people out, but the whole 100,000+ seat stadium shook hard.
Those tickets were our daddy/daughter bonding thing, and I mentioned on here earlier this year that she came back this year for a game and brought her soon-to-be fiance so the wife an I could meet him. We sat in our old seats so he could get the same experience she had growing up. Other than being older and the stairs seeming way higher everyone had a great time. No B-2 this time but we did get F-16s, and the pilots both came to the game in the 3rd quarter after landing at the airport. Kinda cool.
I think my favorite flyover of all time (while I had the season tickets for about 10 years) was the B-52 from Barksdale. Love that plane. When I went into the Air Force way back when I tried to become a B-52 tailgunner but ended up in the computer field. Oh well - pays better now.
October 5, 1985 Rice at Texas halftime. Pretty fucking cool.
Rice is a nice stadium! ποΈ JFK made his famous 'Going to the Moon's Speech there! ππ
I'm sure it is. But it was at Texas.

Was actually there at Tulsa airport for an event...hubby jumped out of a C-47 there
Love hearing your happy memories! So special! We are in Texas also and still see the B-52 fly over occasionally from Barksdale! Impressive!
