Thanks fren for the links. I recall stumbling across Perry Lang photographed at one of the Abramavic spirit cooking "events" as well.
Side note shower thought: Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the Scotty videos would be far more effective without the music?
It can be distracting and makes the visual content feel secondary. Also, the music in general gives off a very cheesy meme vibe... sort of like IDK hilarious dog compilation set to Benny Hill music as an example comparison. Again, I just feel that the music is not ideally compatible with the content that SM10 usually highlights.
In my opinion, I think the music has a huge impact along with the content. They usually are related. I've even noticed some of the lyrics are timed extremely well with images sometimes. Not to mention, it may help get the content found by normies searching for a song. Or maybe it helps with the algorithms too. I'm sure all of the above. If you don't like the music, just mute it fren. But I think you are missing out on some top level creativity and he obviously cannot be working alone.
I purely meant I felt the video material typically would be more wide received lacking the music video style back tracks.
Apples & oranges fren.
Ah gotchya. I do miss how the old Scotty videos were done though. Now they have too many fancy transitions lol.
I just edited a video and looked into this. Turns out when music isn’t sitting right in a video but the selection of music is reasonable, it’s usually a matter of adding a few breaks in the music at certain points in the action to put the viewer’s experience of the music in line with their experience of the video. That gets the music to kind of sit down and blend with the overall video. Listen for music in a popular YouTube video and you’ll hear that it’s there but that it stops and starts in coordination with the action. That’s probably what you’re missing in this video, just a bit more editing would probably solve it.
I agree with the formatting explanation and still advocate for more editing. Normies could be more receptive to the visual content if he cut the music back and added more video cuts with their own audio.
Do you even understand normies? Most of them will get bored and stop watching within seconds if it was just a silent montage of headlines. There's a reason most TikTok videos have music, Scotty knows.
