read the articles, not just headlines. And look for "get out jail free" cards being played with key phrases like "unnamed sources" "someone close to the situation" yadda yadda
if you have a big emotional response to something, step back and understand that's a favorite (and highly effective) tool they use for manipulation.

People jumping to conclusions based on headlines is something that happens waaaaaaay too often. How hard is it to actually read the article included?
