This post would have benefited from less snark, condescension and good condensation.
All intended. Glad it proved my point. I've seen enough lazy post and the attitude that comes with it to know that it is the exact same mind set that has infected young lefty minds. In our case it simply happens to think 'righty'.
That comment seems fairly benign but if you were to take a couple minutes with it you begin to realize my frustration.
I understand the frustration for sure as EM radiation is difficult to quantify our reaction to long term, but some findings are not very positive to begin with, even just lower levels from our phones ten years ago.
I just believe, from one novelist to another, that you can get your point across a bit better by just focusing on the facts and if they don't want to hear it then you won't change their mind.
I try to take the Bongino method of argument: you argue for your audience, not your debate opponent, so if you can avoid becoming the one to get frustrated and condescending/insulting, you'll reach more ears.
Agreed. The topic we are discussing and it's affects on biology are difficult to quantify. As such can not be simply dismissed with a flipped 'data hasn't been presented to me therefore not happening'. Then by extension ask that someone perform the homework for them is blatant laziness.
Whether or not our environment and technology we use within pose a life threatening ailment deserves an equal level of thought. To pass that baton and responsibility for others to prove out is plane laziness but worse than laziness it's entitlement. It's a major flaw in ones analytical ability. A flaw most have no clue they possess.
That is precisely why my comment was so abrasive.
Sometimes one's own ridiculousness has to be thrust in one's own face in order for one to realize how apparent the flaw was. Sometimes laying transparent in front of others nudges and corrects course. And sometimes it's delivered in a way that startles a reaction.
I've taken and continue to take bitter medicine almost on daily basis. I pray that it never ceases to sour and shock my yearning for complacency.
Your advice is obviously genuine, appreciated and will be taken as such.
Haha, I get you fren. I fall into that sometimes too. I hope more studies are performed on the effects of EM radiation, especially as more is generated/harnessed/amplified than is natural, and it definitely can't be good.
