Not that this matters, but I worked for 30 years for a Fortune 100 Automotive Supplier, starting in the early 80's. I spent most of that time deploying systems with new facilities around the world. In my mid-late 20's I was part of our first of many Mexico facilities to be deployed. When I left we were everywhere, South America, China, All over Eastern / Western Europe, India etc.. Guess where our very first offshore deployment was....Singapore (even before Mexico).

BTW, that pressure to globalize and being exposed and having to have an understanding of the trade agreements and so forth, was a huge part of my (and my wife's) personal awakening journey. None of WHY and how we did it ever made sense to me and many on the team. The true business case was just never there. Many items that drove costs and so forth were ignored or hidden. Think about it, they say we make shit in China cause its "cheaper". How much of that crap has reduced in price since 1990? (hint - ZERO) Also. The position I held I had access to all the financials, taxes, tariffs, etc...everything. But yes, something was up then w/ Singapore. I think they were one of the first Cabal butt buddies of this nature.
