Nationwide farmer protest begins in Germany. Police union boss Rainer Wendt praises farmers' protests: "All attempts to criminalize our farmers and push them into the right-wing corner have failed."

UPDATE - 5,500 tractors from various parts outside Munich heading towards the city center, police say.
