I find it so interesting at the number of people parroting that "do your own research" is bad. Worse, they do it from a position that they, of course, are better and more capable of parsing various news articles talking vaguely about studies done by compromised labs.

It's actually pretty subversive messaging, as it creates a continuously widening divide between political wings and everyone caught between; after all, everyone in today's world views the other side as dumb, unintelligent, brainwashed, etc. and so it plays on that superiority complex that they have cultivated in people.
