Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Yeah, she's had some good stuff over the years - Arabian Nights, Cities in Dust, The Passenger, Peekaboo - worth a dive if you're into building a collection. She also did Face-to-Face off the Batman Returns soundtrack, pretty cool tune. I don't think they're together anymore, I think she married Budgie but I think they got divorced. Lost track over time, but it's still cool to listen to the old stuff now and then.
I was listening to Juju as a playlist on their official YouTube channel last night. I don't remember hearing "Arabian Nights" on the radio, but definitely "Spellbound." Cities in Dust was on the radio a lot too. I lived in Arizona, and KUKQ1060AM was THE Alternative radio station in the late '80s/early '90s. I didn't really figure music out until the end of '90. I forget the album which "Cities in Dust" comes from, but I found that album at the public library and copied the song for a compilation audio cassette, which I played constantly in my car until it backfired and caught fire after I graduated college in '99. Rooftop isn't around anymore (I imagine she just changed her username and is still here though), but she remembers KUKQ.
Siouxsie married Budgie? That's cool. I had wondered if she had married Severin since he'd been with her since the beginning and wrote songs with her. Hyaena goes for too much money on CD, but I found Juju last night. Actually cheaper here in Japan than on Amazon USA. In the notes for the "Best Of" CD, it says that the band grew in popularity here in Japan before the USA, which I thought was interesting. "The Passenger" is a cover of an Iggy Pop song, and I like both versions. I have to say that "Dear Prudence" is superior to the original Beatles version by far. I played it for my wife, who is a Beatles song.
I downloaded Hyaena as mp3 files and burned it onto CD to listen to in the car. There is a track on there that my wife said sounds like enka music. I can hear its influence. Siouxsie had definitely used Indian influences too. I know two people who traveled to Hong Kong over winter break recently, and it just makes me hum "Hong Kong Garden" in my mind.
Pleasant memories, fren. Thanks, I had forgotten some of the stuff over the years. I do remember naming a cat I had Prudence years ago when I lived in Iowa. Best mouser I ever had :)
Nice name for a cat! That's great. I once had a cat named Agent Cooper.
