Death penalty and execution should be swift. It sets an example for others. The death penalty instills fear of the law, and saves lives.
No it doesnt because the death penalty means they will spend the next 20 or 30 years going for appeals and most of them get it reversed. The death penalty will only be powerful once they start killing them right away instead of waiting for 20 or 30 years. If they can do that you can start removing the scum but for some reason it means nothing the way it sits.
Well they did say “should be swift”. I don’t think they mean 20 to 30 years.
Hence the word "swift".
