knew a number of lower level Freemasons, and they were in it for the camaraderie .
My grand-daddy wore a Masonic ring, so I assume he was a Mason. For him, that was just somewhere he could go hang out with the fellas.
I can see that, especially in the midcentury, before all the technology took over, when people socialized more.
