My favorite intellectual. Camille Paglia is the greatest American culture critic of the 20th century. She was calling out the degeneration of higher education and the nihilism of our elite managerial class with absolute precision 30 years ago. Also, the bankruptcy of contemporary feminism and political correctness. Independently reading ‘Sexual Personae’ my final semester as an undergrad was the beginning of my deprogramming as a leftist apparatchik. Her essay “Junk Bonds and Corporate Raiders: Academe in the Hour of the Wolf” is essential reading if you’re looking for an autopsy of American education… Naturally, she is HATED by the contemporary left.
