Fear-mongers. Always a world-ending disaster on the horizon. Always just enough time to fix it if you give them all your money, surrender your human rights, and obey every stupid thing they tell you to do. If it becomes obvious they're lying about the apocalypse du jour, they just come up with another one to scare you into compliance. "They," of course, are the few thousand breathtakingly arrogant elite-because-they-have-money educated fools who think they have a right to fashion the world to their liking. Never mind all the blood they spill to do it.
BTW, my favorite is the April 2006 cover. It seems to foreshadow the frowning Greta Goblin saying that only panic will save us.
It’s always “12 years” away too. It has to be because they need a time frame that inspires urgency, but also fits a couple of election cycles.
After this they moved to climate change and just claim that any change in the weather is evidence. They didn’t even change the scientific claim. Extra carbon in the atmosphere creates a greenhouse effect that… lowers temperature? It’s insane.
I think it's ridiculous that they've seized upon carbon as the boogyman that will kill us all. All life is made of carbon, and plants grow better with higher carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, which means healthier more abundant crops. It just shows how easy it is for them to fool people after they make them stupid from destroying education. And global warming? Please. Any honest historian will tell you human civilization always prospered during extended warm periods. I'm completely for it. Now they say "climate change" because none of Al Gore's hysterical predictions came true, but they are still hoping to lower the temperature with crazy schemes. Bill gates wants to cut down trees and block the sun! Their agenda is not benevolent, and they are not trying to save the planet. They're into depopulation (since the 1800s!), which can only be achieved through mass murder, and they're fine with that because they plan for you to die, not them. Away with them all!
