I honestly don’t know much about it but you may get 2 for 1 for the shares you own. You end up with double the number of shares and the price per share is cut in half. I don’t know what has to happen for them to do it. I assume when the price per share gets real high but idk. AMC recently had a reverse split, I believe.
How does splitting work and why does it happen?
In a nutshell, the shares outstanding double, everyone who has shares has their share count double, and the price halves.
It’s a liquidity promotion move - demand exceeds available shares and improve affordability, which increases overall demand and thus share price.
