The article is flat out wrong when it says the National Guard is the equivalent of modern militias mentioned in the Constitution.
How so?
The militia, as defined in the Constitution is all able bodied men.
You do not have to be involved in the military.
Your assumption is what the Left uses to say the 2nd Amendment only applies to the military and not every citizen.
I keep reading that the national guard is a state based military.
Weren’t all the state militias federalized under the Militia Act of 1903?
Edit: now that I think about it, I’ve never actually read the act.
