The Founders in their genius knew that future govt scum would try to go authoritarian dictatorship and outlaw militias. So they put the word right in the 2nd Amendment—the only one that contains language explaining why the amendment is necessary.

I've written before that the opening clause was superfluous, and the amendment should have simply stated "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." I'm rethinking that now and retracting it. Because Congresscriminals have decided to go full authoritarian dictatorship.
