It's all good, when there was talk of cutting SS out W/ gradual increase in personal control. I supported that, but I was young and my contributions were small. One plan was to give the individual control by 2% a year, so in 50 years at 0% Government control.
As someone that's in their mid 30s and paid in about 36k but will probably never see any return I'd like to see the whole commie program vaporized and I don't care what the consequences are. Let's rip that Bandaid off!
Trump/Q surely has some plan in mind... Right now at 65.5 I'd returned to work a few years ago, but there are many people who are older and unable to work. Leaving them high and dry isn't any better than killing them with COVID like was done in 2020 to boost the death count.
For some people maybe some form of lump sum returning what they paid in, I dunno. In the Philippines they have some type of Lump sum payout for some people. Their contribution, the employer's contribution + any interest.
It should never been put into effect.

I paid in over 50K to SS starting in 1972. Gaps in employment were covered by savings. My SS is not welfare...
