I just realized. Trump’s “less than 5 months” comment will be within the next 2 weeks.
🗣️ DISCUSSION 💬
Trump said at a rally 4+ months ago, "less than 5 months from now, the country will be well on its way to recovery". This comment has stuck in my mind since he said it. I wish I had the sauce. Please share it if you have it. I am so excited, but not sure what to be excited about...
She will drop out after she gets smoked in S Carolina which is Feb 27th I think. Nevada is next up though and she on the primary ballot but that doesnt give out delegates so is meaningless. Not sure if she is in the Caucus, not sure how those work in an individual State.
After S Carolina is Super Tuesday which is on March 4th this year I think. I highly doubt she is still in the race then. At that point they will be calling Trump the presumptive nominee until he is officially chosen by delegate count at the Convention in August.
Even though he is running unopposed from Super Tuesday onward, I dont really expect him to slow down on the rallies. I think he will hit up at least the battleground States like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, probably multiple times. He will hit other important States like Florida, Ohio, Texas too.
Sounds reasonable thanks.
It just occurred to me that if she does drop out after S Carolina or even suffers the bloodbath that Super Tuesday would be, it could be Trump and Biden (until after the dem convention at which time he drops out for health, notice the narrative seeding by the OKeefe interview) and this would have to be the earliest the candidate were more or less set. Usually the incumbent is running pretty much unopposed while the other party goes to at least early summer.
This gives Trump a head start on the Presidential campaign. Even as the presumptive nominee I see rallies everywhere. Lots of them. He can go after dems as much as Biden. The question will be how much do they spend to counter Trump knowing that Biden will be out of the campaign in August and they will need to spend a bundle to promote a new surprise candidate (likely Big Mike but dont count out Newsome, he did meet personally with Xi after all). I know there is one super PAC that said it would spend 250M between the convention and the election. But they cant leave Trump as the only voice for several months before that.
Schumers been whining about money too recently. Hes worried about losing the Senate. There are more vulnerable dems than rinos i guess. I dont think either the DNC or RNC are on firm financial footing at this point. The People on both sides are tired of partisan party politics and just want solutions. That crushes donations.
Train of thought rambling sorry.
