That's not really accurate. Her former record label Big Red Machine was bought by Scooter Braun for $330 million, a deal that was supported and partially funded by Carlyle Group. In 2019 Swift publicly feuded with Braun and the Carlyle Group over this as Braun now owned the rights to her first 6 albums. She has since re-recorded those albums in an effort to devalue them.
THIS is the correct summary. Taylor was very pissed off at the time because they outbid her for the masters (she wanted to own her own music) and they paid a price that was ridiculously high to the point of it being almost impossible to ever make the money back.
So as DB correctly asserts, she flipped them the middle finger and re-recorded those albums and re-released them.
Not a Taylor Swift fan and I think there's some incredibly sketchy stuff that goes on at her concerts. But what she did here was pretty cool and a giant FU to Carlyle and the Soros foundation.
Democrats like Elizabeth Warren and AOC got on board also because this became an issue in the VA Governor race as Glenn Younkin was the Co-CEO of Carlyle Group and Terry McAwful tried attacking him with this. Of course McAuliffe had invested in Carlyle Group himself, and George Soros has invested hundred of millions into their group.
This isn't to defend Swift either, but rather to point out she's not controlled by the Carlyle Group. I do think she has been politically activated though and the Swift/Kelce thing is contrived. Or maybe it's not a psyop but rather the media and democrats taking advantage of useful idiots, who knows.

All paid by Soros
