Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
First Verse
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

question for you fren: Does God know everybody before they are born or just select people with a certain mission like the prophet Jeremiah?
Great question fren. I feel you have a separate question that you are leading up to though. 😉😁
So yes God knows everyone before they are born. If I understand what you mean by "knows"
God is outside creation
I guess to refine my question it would be does God know specific people before they are born because He creates them with a purpose, while others are just born as a "blank slate" (thinking of things like babies out of wedlock, people such as cain, etc)
I wanted to tell someone who's feeling down that God wanted them specifically but don't want to use false doctrine that has no scriptures relevant to it
This is the thought of God's sovereignty vs our free will. How do we have free will if God knows all. How does God know all if we have free will. It's a round and round thought that truly can't be settled with our understanding because we are using a limited understanding and God is outside that. God is so awesome that he has sovereignty as well as gives us free will.
My response is that God yes has a purpose for each of us and he will through his grace and mercy set us on paths that will fulfill his purpose yet in a way that makes us have free will to choose it. No there are no blank slates because God knows all. Yet he loves us so much that we have free will to reject what he picks for us. In a way that we don't feel like robots. It's a fascinating topic honestly..
You can absolutely tell someone God wants them. God desires that all his creations draws close to him, yet his love is so pure and awesome that he provides ways for us not to if we decide not to.
Hope I'm some what answering the question. Please feel free to keep refining the thought of I'm not. This is truly an amazing dialogue because if forces us to realize that we can't really know the ways of God fully. Yet we can seek to know him deeply. And he will reveal himself to us deeply. :)
