Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Do you eat any leafy greens? Spinach, kale, anything like that?
Not on carnivore. On Keto plants are allowed. I like this because I don’t have to keep up with how much I eat. Counting calories, macros or carbs isn’t for me. There’s different ways of carnivore. The very strict eat beef, butter, eggs, bacon. I would eat that way but beef is just too expensive. Basically anything from an animal. Some give uo dairy for 60 days. We bought a 1/4 cow last May but it won’t last till we can get more if we only eat beef. I have bought some store beef and it’s just not good after having home grown with out the extra hormones. So we eat pork pork also. I would eat chicken but you need fat with your protein. It’s an elimination diet mainly to see if any medical, skin or gut problems is caused by food you eat. It’s also for weight loss if you need that, I started for both reasons. I didn’t give up dairy at first but I’m going to because I want to see if it’s responsible for my allergies. Not sure if you are asking out of curiosity or interested, doesn’t matter either way. There’s lots of videos on YouTube that’s very helpful. At first I told my husband I don’t think I can make it 30 days. After celebrating grandbaby’s birthday on her bday and a party eating non carnivore them getting sick and just couldn’t eat. I’m so ready to get back on. Things that used to be my favorites taste like chemicals. I was surprised how much sugar is in everything. I found out my local sausage I’ve eaten since a kid has grits and sugar. Sausage companies use wheat or corn as a binder. I can’t find any lunch meat without sugar. I thought I was good at knowing what was in food but not as good as I thought.
Im asking because leafy greens offer nutrients that will help charge your body up when you are sick, so it might be good to add some to your diet to feel better
I appreciate your advice.. I know many don’t understand and that’s ok. I’ve done a lot of research. I ate pretty good today and am feeling much better.
