The NFL and all of pro sports have been rigged for a long time. Author Brian Tuohy wrote a book about it years ago. He interviewed former players who told him it was all a show. Like he says, "Would you leave a multi-billion dollar industry up to chance?"

Literally the reason why I have always thought it was scripted is because sports gambling exists. What an absolute awesome revenue stream for the elite, if you already know the outcome.
With all the new sports gambling apps like Draft Kings, there has been an exponential rise in what they call prop bets. Thats where you can bet if receiver A gets 4 catches or more or gets 100 yards. Bets like that.
That kind of betting really opens the floodgates to fixing and scripts.
Draft Kings is a major sponsor of sports radio and the hosts act basically as salesmen having segments devoted to betting. SB Nation is a web hosting service that has a dedicated site for every team. Its been around a long time and has always been centered on the teams. Now though even the articles can have a distinctly gambling based flavor as well as having gambling service banners everywhere.
Then you watch the games. You cant tell me winners and losers arent picked.
