I was wondering why the impeachment vote failed. From a Plan perspective is it possible that the timing is not right, yet, so the movie script didn't allow it?
It failed because 1 Republican wasn’t there and there would have been a voting tied score. The rule is if tied, then he would not be impeached and no revote is allowed. To prevent that, one Republican changed his vote to no and by doing that, there was no tied score and then they have to revote at a later date. That allows the one absent congressman to show up next time and then we would have a majority and he will be impeached.
Good to know. Thanks.
Yup, just learned it yesterday myself.
I hear that the way it was done allows it to be revisited Monday when Scalia's is back. And the left has had more opportunities to buy off others...
