As someone in the industry I can say that in the last three years prices have nearly doubled in my area. Subs where houses started at 350k ar now at 650k. Another of my builders built subs full of site condos (a dinstinction mostly for permitting reasons, these are single family homes in reality) for mostly older, downsizing couples and three years ago they were 175k and are now 350k.
