Everything I can find seems to point to the fact that he is Christian.

Who said that's what it is or what Tucker sees it as? Some people carry a rabbit's foot for luck, or wear tiger's eye to keep out bad spirits.

If you mean the Red String, sure why not, the actual red string used in Kabbalah has to be wrapped 3 times around the Tomb of Rachel for the person in mind, and that person can only be a pregnant woman in labor. So if you mean just wearing a red string? Sure why not, it means nothing.
So... who knows. I hope Tucker is a white hat. He sure seems to be.

If you visit the holy places in Jerusalem there are people who will tie the red string around your wrist and then demand money and say they are rabbis. I saw that on a travelogue on youtube.
