I remember when the power went out during the Super Bowl years back, and it got me thinking. The Hoover Dam is right up the road from Las Vegas. With so much security at the Super Bowl, I hope there is equally as much at the Hoover Dam. If there was EVER a watch the water moment.... I hope they are really watching the Hoover Dam closely, because that would be a real problem if something ever happened to it.
I hope I am just being paranoid, but this is a hell of an upside down world right now.
Great point. Someone could blow that thing up and then anything downstream would be pretty much fucked.
That, and think power grid.
I think that's where Las Vegas gets their water also.
Get real dude. The hoover dam is 660 feet thick at its base, 45 feet thick at its crest. It would take an atomic bomb placed at the right place to bring the dam down.
It would be much more effective to just explode the bomb in a highly populated city instead. Besides killing all the people, it would render the city uninhabitable for a long time.
Maybe just an airplane full of fuel.
Not to mention, if it breaks nobody is in the path of the water. Only down side would be the power dropping out
