Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
What's the best way to deal with chronic dark circles under eyes?
I've had them for about 20 years, and now that I'm getting old, I'm starting to notice them more.
It may be too late for me.
I read frankensense powder made into a paste
Search on cell salts for dark circles under eyes - they will break down to the color (brown, blue, black) of the circles before recommending which cell salt would be most appropriate.
Low level food allergy could be contributing to it also.
Have your iron levels checked.
I heard this twice from unconnected females in one day, suddenly concerned about it after not hearing about it for years. some kind of pre-valentine's day eye makeup campaign.
you're all beautiful in your own ways ladies, don't let em mess with your head because you're less than perfect. nobody is perfect. 😎
My aunt used cucumbers. Slice and place over your closed eyelids for about 10-15 minutes.
Be careful with cucumbers on eyes. My grand daughter has an infected eye from this virus we have. I was researching natural treatments and searched cucumber. Ran across an article saying you could get an infection on your face from using unsanitary produce.
Oh crap. Thanks for the heads-up. Never mind, then.
Start by trying to determine why you have dark circles under eye. I never had them until about two years ago. After going through the appendix and kidney stone surgeries last year (probably cause of much of my health issues) I figured they would disappear but didn’t. I’m beginning to believe mine is possibly an imbalance, hormones and poor sleep habits. There’s lots of natural creams and oils available. Hard thing is figuring out what works for you. Also diet probably plays a big role.
I’ve ordered from this shop on etsy several times. She’s very helpful and knowledgeable. Will do custom orders. For now read the description on this link. It lists plants that help with undereye. Technically shops aren’t supposed to list this information because it’s considered medical information. Most used to do it and stopped. A YouTube search might find helpful information also. I’m finding the biggest most popular ingredient in under eye is coffee or some kind of caffeine.

Pretty Farm Girl on Etsy has good products. I think she has a website also.
Ursa Major has a very good products. I haven’t ordered because main base is coconut and it’s drying to me.
I’m currently using Paula’s Choice products in addition to natural plant products from small businesses.
Assuming you are female, can also use a plant based concealer or tinted face cream. If you need additional links I can find something.
Bottom line until you fix the inside they won’t go away. Could be gut or anything going on.
I saw couples in Japan were getting eye infections because they were licking each other's eye balls lol.
That’s just gross!
Good info. Thank you! I guess you didn’t have to worry back then.
I’m sure there’ much more toxins on produce than twenty years ago. I can’t get the wax off a cucumber. I wash everything in vinegar bath. The gunk normally comes off of apples and oranges after a soak but not cucumbers.
So THAT'S why women in spas did that. I'll try that, thank you.
See moodyblue’s comment. I guess your best bet would be organic cucumbers or better yet, farmer’s produce.
In the meantime, this is the one and only under eye treatment that I use. It actually works. It doesn’t leave lines, and it’s very natural looking. If somebody asked me, I could only have one make up product for the rest of my life, this would be one of them.
Garnier SkinActive Clearly Brighter Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller, Sheer Tint Light/Medium, 0.5 Fl Oz (15mL), 1 Count (Packaging May Vary) https://a.co/d/gkk1hi5
(Que the token make up hating person on this forum)
Thank you for that info! The lines most leave are so annoying.
They could also be caused by parasites.
By making sure you get plentiful and restful sleep daily.
I get about eight hours every day.
I guess it's not very deep sleep.
Try disconnecting devices an hour before bedtime, and relaxing before sleeping. Sleep is the most common cause for dark circles, but perhaps there could be other reasons as well.
