Calling a sitting US senator a turtle is a massive insult to turtles everywhere.

I met a wonderful turtle one time and helped him cross the road. Very friendly critter. Hid in his shell until he realized I wasn't in fact there to kill him.

I tried to help a snapping turtle out of the road one time, and all he did was try to bite me. Seems like a pretty good analogy to a politician.
