I never once thought I was losing my shit. But I have wondered when I'd no longer take it.

We have one of those he/she/it at work. Once they force the pronoun police on us I will be out of a job. At my age that will be a huge hit in income trying to land a new job. It will be a change in how I expected my retirement to go.
