Iran did not declare the entirety of Antarctica its property. The top naval commander said they have property rights there. Without reading the treaty Id have to say he is most likely right. Antarctica is set up for international research and I dont see why they wouldnt have the right to set up a research station.

The treaty does explicitly forbid military activity there.
