Agree, it was a local hotspot.
Not saying he is a pedo at all here but, It is tough not to be a little suspicious about ‘any knowledge’ given the large amount perverted artwork on the walls and bands that played there etc.
Also, the word typically gets out on the goings-on at places like that through local gossip. Hell, they were instagramming it all - not really hiding things.
Maybe he was aloof though, certainly possible - could have been a ‘front roomer’ only I guess,
I’ve been in there and you’re right. In the front it’s pretty innocuous. The back gets weird. I did a walk through and some surveillance on the place in the earliest of v/PG days. The stairs to the basement are in the rear entrance vestibule on the Little Red Fox size. Every building on that block has a basement.
