Very technically speaking, I think he means Sunday.

Sunday is technically the first day of a new week. But, most people think of Monday as the start of the "next week" . So, I am going to enjoy Sunday and the flood of hopium all day long. And if nothing big happens, I'll go to sleep and wake up Monday with even more curiosity.
