It dont sound right to me. Kinda defeats the point of the appeal if you have to pay anywaus then basically make the state give a half billion refund after
NY is a lousy financial bet. They are beyond broke. But I have never heard of paying a bond to be able to appeal a decision. NY has gone full blown nazi dictatorship.
They are used across the country.

Thank you. Honestly didn't think this through in terms a plaintive who has an honest case against an insurance company or a large corporation. A bond makes sense if there's a victim. In this particular case Trump is the victim and this is a ny pile-on.
Has anyone determined who gets the money?
I think it goes to NY state.
I know there is a fund for victims of crime, but I don't know if civil judgements go into that
