I dont know what to expect to see happen with this at all. I sure wasnt expecting anything on the first day.
We cooked up some ground beef and chicken livers with some squash and beef broth.i mixed in the fenben and vitamins. She slurped it right up.
My wife said she slept all day.its not unusual for her to sleep all day.shes a lazy mutt.
When i came home,i noticed the rancid smelling breath wasnt bad, could usually smell it across the room. I didnt say anything.out of the blue my wife said "i really cant smell her breath". She was drooling some gross looking stuff. I assume the lump popped and was leaking.
The lump on her face looked like it shrunk. I didnt say anything to my wife. Woke up this morning and wife was all excited cuz the lump shrank and she can open her eye all the way. The lump is literally about half the size it was.
I did not think id be giving an update for atleast a few more days or a week. I dont know if these changes are a good thing caused by 1 dosing or its a bad thing indicating the end is near. Ill dose her again this morning and see what happens.
Wow! Try to give her some ivermectin with the fenbendazole. Virex health carries PetMectin and Petdazole, or you can just use the Tractor Supply ivermectin paste. I pray she does well and recovers fully. Please keep updating us. I think if she is still eating, and the tumor is shrinking, that is a good sign.
The dosage for ivermectin for dogs is way different. I looked it up to see if I could save money by using the horse paste. The amount a dog gets is so small it’s nearly impossible to measure to use the horse paste. An overdose can be toxic to a dog. I would only use ivermectin made for dogs or make sure you understand the dosage.
Do you have any info on it being dangerous at the horse dosage level?
IIRC, a full tube provided almost as much as a single human pill.edit: Been corrected belowI would love to see data on dogs with Ivermectin. Now I am very curious.
That dosage assumption for humans is just wrong.
You want roughly .4 mg/kg of body weight in humans. There are 6,000 mg in a tube of horsey paste. 1.87% is ivermectin. 112 mg ivermectin in that tube.
A common Ivermectin pill I saw is 3mg. So it's like 35 pills. There might be other size pills. I don't know.
If you weigh 200 lbs, that's 90 kg. So you would need 36 mg of ivermectin. That's about 1/3 of a tube.
I am not a doctor, or a vet, or anybody whom you should take any kind of advice from. Don't even believe my response if you ask me the color of the sky. I was just wondering how much horsey paste I would give my horse in Minecraft one day and then I happened to read completely unreliable information about dosing humans in minecraft.
That 112 number sounds correct, I must be recalling it incorrectly. I was thinking the pills I saw were 12mg & must have misplaced the decimal.
Thanks for correcting me on that. I was thinking it was 11.2mg
A week of the 112 didn't kill me, but I am going to recalculate & figure out the proper dosage. A tube a day was pricy.
edit: Seems I screwed up using a percent key on my calculator gave me the 11.2 incorrect answer. When multiplying 6000*0.0187 (0.01 is 1% for those who didn't know) it comes up as 112.2 mg of Ivermectin per tube.
I am suprised I didn't OD on that stuff 🤣
Edit 2 - I have a big horse. Seems it was only a double suggested dose for the week. Still I am grateful for this reminder that I need to do my math multiple times, especially when sick. Off by a factor of 10.
