Jesus Christ is not God. Jesus Christ is the son of God. They are not the same. The Father and the son do not have the same authority.
Wrong... Clearly you are either Mormon or JW or some other religion...
Christians know that God is triune.... Father, Son and Holy Spirit.... All 100% fully God.
The Bible is very clear on this subject.
If you don't believe this, your beliefs are completely respected.... But this is NOT what Jesus taught. He claimed to be God... 100%.
-In "The Creation of Adam" painting, God is depicted as a different being than the Jesus Christ we all acknowledge.
Jesus' last words on the cross: -Luke 23:34: And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." He's not talking to himself.
-Matthew 27:45-46: Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Mark 15:33-34: And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
-Luke 23:45b-46: And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" And having said this he breathed his last.
You can't tell somebody they're wrong when Jesus is calling out to God in the Bible. You can't tell somebody they're wrong when the fresco painting is on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Jesus was fully God in Heaven and fully man on earth.
Jesus wilfully submitted to God the father to die for our sins....
Cult religions deny Jesus' diety.... It's their hallmark because the only true Christian religion is the one Jesus, himself, founded.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus was the Word and he was and is God...
You believe whatever makes you happy.
Peace out....
None of that refutes anything. If anything it elongates my debate, especially your john 1:1 that is practically irrelevant to the matter at hand. So here since you want to be so arrogant about it, "The Bible is very clear on this subject," here's more for you.
Matthew 26:63-64 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
Here even the jews bring it up. why would they bring it up? What's funny is if you read a little further from your verse, you get this
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
And those are all from the King James version too. Yea peace out to you too.
Read your Bible and you'll find out the truth. Jesus never claimed to be God he said he was the son of God. He went to the dessert to pray to God when he needed to seek answers. He referred to his Father in heaven many times. Jesus never once spoke about a trinity and in fact the word never appears in the Bible at all. Jesus is God's son and he came to teach us all how we can be perfect like him. Jesus said to his disciples "greater works shall you do" .. Does it make any sense that God would tell humans that we will do greater works than Him? Was Christ talking to himself when he said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" ? Trust me when I tell you that we are all capable of being perfect as Christ was when he was on earth. Christ said you must be born again of God's spirit. We can all be filled with the same spirit that Jesus was filled with and that is why he came- to show us how to do that. Jesus never claimed to be God. Please revisit your Bible. When they asked him if he was God he responded by saying "truly i am the son of God". The Trinitarian doctrine is a false doctrine that convinces people that it's impossible to live perfectly as Christ did.
I've read my Bible many times....
You clearly belong to one of the many cults that deny Jesus' diety...and therefore are NOT Christian...
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word spoke of in this verse is Jesus.
Jesus was and is God...
No amount of your cult preaching will change that fact.
You are free to believe what you want... Peace out....
Such a shame the amount of Christians who have been brainwashed into believing that Jesus is God. It's crazy because Jesus himself says that he is the son of God and not God.
Let me ask.. how much of Christ's teachings do you ignore? Are you the type of Christian who thinks it's impossible not to sin as well? Christ said "he who sins does not know God and the truth is not in you". Most Christians that I talk to believe that it's impossible to live without sinning and this belief stems from believing that Jesus is God. Because if you believe Jesus is God then you also believe that it's impossible to be perfect as Christ was. Christ said "be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect" he didn't say "try to be perfect" be perfect. Anyways good luck
Jesus is God in the form of a perfect man who died for our sins. Humans who have faith are the sons and daughters of God. The reason why Jesus is called the Son is because of the human form he once had
No. Please read my response to the other guy on the thread. You're wrong
Incorrect. Jesus is God
No he's the son of God as he said himself. Why are you ignoring Christ's own words?
