Thanks for posting this u/LakotaPride . I watched his speech live and knew immediately that the MSM would hammer him for it. I'm even willing to bet his own campaign asked him not to say the things he ended up saying. That's one of the biggest reasons I like Trump - he just knows people.
I'm glad the audience understood where he was coming from and why he was saying what he said - it was a big risk for him to go as far as he did. However - it looks like the blacks ABC talked to understood that as well, and really appreciated him going out on a limb and telling them what they needed to hear. It of course doesn't apply to all blacks, but the audience knew where he was going and why. They know the crime statistics and want to change them, and if I had to guess, I'd bet nobody in that room has had a conversation as honest as that for quite some time.
That to me is a HUGE sign that he will have a LOT of well-deserved black support, and that they are willing to give him a chance to implement his policies. The man is simply amazing.
