I got a cold every year. Usually a bad one that would lay me up.
I work out in the hot sun all day and when I hit 50 I started getting cramps. Put you down on the ground cramps mostly in my lats. I suspected it was because I was diluting the electrolytes with too much water, so I went online and bought a book by an Australian triathlete about runners cramps.
I was correct in what I suspected, it was diluted electrolytes. I didnt want to do salt tablets so I picked up a supplement with 33% RDA Calcium, 33% magnesium, 25% zinc and 2000 units of D3. I eat about 5 or 6 a day in the summer. Salt and potassium I get from drinking a few V8s a day. No more cramps. (Told my doc and we check those levels twice a year and no probs... also I stop in mid December until it gets warm again).
Funny thing is in the 9 years since I began doing this I havent had a single sniffle. From a sure thing December cold and possible March cold to nothing ever. My D levels usually run about 75 - 80. I can be around sick people at family get togethers and where everyone else catches it, I get away scot free. I laugh at your sneezes and coughs. They have no power over me lol.
