What I find interesting about the line of "God loves us as we are" is that it runs contrary to someone that has changed who they are at as base a level as they can.

Acceptance was about understanding that not everyone is the same, and that we are our own person.

But somehow it has become about normalizing everything that isn't normal, and abusing people who speak against it.

I still find it utterly baffling that they actually try now and then to run with "being skinny / trying to lose weight makes you fat phobic"
