Saw a video clip a couple of days back I think on one of Joe Rogan's podcasts. The guest said anything you can turn off they can just turn back on without your knowledge.

I've seen examples of this on the wife's and her friends phones a few times already.

This. Our iPhones were turning themselves on. Removed SIM, deleted phone. Bye bye Apple.
