The very "peer review" they speak of so highly is just another method to maintain the orthodoxy. I'm surprised that ANYTHING new ever gets discovered under such a system. In fact, I'd go so far as saying that the academic process of attaining a Masters or PhD degree is yet another way to enforce orthodoxy. It's a way of weeding out original thinkers and those who might strike off in uncharted ways of discovery.
