You know. It’ll be interesting to see what the plan is with Haiti. The Country has been perpetually unstable since it’s inception. Going through a revolving door of dictators and incompetent/barely competent Republics/Democracies. Not to mention multiple botched foreign interventions that ultimately changed nothing on the island.
Last I was aware. What was left of the Haitian Government. Before the situation had completely deteriorated. Asked for Foreign Military Expeditionary Forces to secure critical infrastructure. In order to free up their Security Forces for policing duties.
Which somewhat ironically only intensified the unrest. As the people are paranoid especially after the results of the UN ‘peacekeeping’ following the first earthquake.
Then the request morphed from ‘secure critical infrastructure’. To in essence a full on Colonial Occupation. Once it became clear things were deteriorating even further.
I think I’ve got some autocorrect/autocomplete function turned on and I haven’t quite managed to figure out how to shut it off.
That and Language Arts was never a strong suit. It didn’t help that I was part of the ‘No Child Left Behind’ and ‘Common Core’ generation of public education.
