FUNNY TRUE STORY - Back in the early 1980's a commercial airline pilot I knew described how after finishing his Air Force Piloting stint (before becoming a commercial pilot), he (any many other American AF pilots) were offered very lucrative 3-year, tax-free paychecks in Saudi Arabia training their pilots how to fly. He made enough money in those 3 years to come home and pay cash for a 9,000 sq ft luxury home on the side of the mountain, so he was set for life after that.

Anyway, he told of the strange things he saw and learned about their culture and thinking. One of the things was how the wealthy Arabs had these yachts and would throw 'parties' for their friends. They were always looking for beautiful pale-skinned Caucasian women, preferably blonde and/or blue-eyed to 'lounge' on their yachts for a day or a weekend for 'generous pay'.

He said he learned many American and European flight attendants whose flights had overlays in SA, happily did the 'weekend boat trip' and came back with cash or beautiful gemstone rings or other jewelry for their trouble. He said many of the girls claimed to do nothing more than walk around in their bikinis and smile at the men.

These yachts sat in international waters and were governed by no nation, thus anything was not out of bounds.

Also - Noteworthy: He also told me that if I had a choice, I should never fly on a Saudi-flown commercial jet if I had another option. He said the pilots religious teachings were such that they WOULD NOT TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION if a plane developed mechanical issues. They'd just say, "Allah wills it." and let the plane go down!
