"I recently evolved into the "crazy zone," in which I understand too much about how the world works to have a fruitful conversation with someone who thinks we live in a Republic, elections are designed to be fair, the news is real, and free speech still exists in the United States.

Feeling this way, too…..about to go to “woke” church with some relatives. Wish me luck….

Thanks purkiss80! I could feel your presence today, and what an awesome presence it was😃💯❤️!!
Two takeaways from my church experience today. First, the preacher was talking about how, when they were young, they would wait in lines for hours, sometimes missing school, to get a ticket for the premiere of a new movie. They then asked the congregation what have they waited in line for? I was so tempted to say a Trump rally, but didn’t have the guts to speak up. 🙁
second, the church would pray for Israel and Ukraine. This has been a common theme amongst the woke churches. I also add Russia to the list of people we are praying for. I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t go over well with the congregation either, so I say it out loud, but quietly.
It’s funny how most people in the congregation would consider me closed minded, when they should really hold up a mirror and look at themselves when they say that. There are a lot of good people in the congregation, don’t get me wrong, but their fear of being kicked out of the tribe is overwhelming. Praying that people can learn to love God fearlessly, and reject tribalism that is centered on false idols and material things.🙏💯❤️🙏

You should have said toilet paper. 😄
In all seriousness, I have tried a tactic of if you consider yourself to be open-minded, then you have to be open to ideas and opinions that may from the get-go sound absurd. It may turn out that is the case, BUT you have to at least give it a look. Because no one likes to consider themselves close-minded. It is kind of a check to get them to at least think.
this is why sometimes it is best to plant seeds and see if they grow.
“They”? Are you referring to a singular person (he/she) or multiple people (they/them)?
There is a coordinated effort to change language to suit narratives (immigrant instead of illegal alien, etc.) and a big part of that is the push towards non-gendered language. Our kids are being taught to say the non-gender terms “they/them” instead of “he/she” and “parent” instead of “mother/father” for example.
