My job was eliminated a few months ago. I've had a couple great opportunities that didn't come through. Had a couple contract gigs that I started, and for pre-existing reasons were cancelled within my first week. I went from two locked-in options and two contract backups to nothing in a 6 week period.
I'm fortunate that I had surgery to fix a major long-standing medical problem early last year, and I am beyond grateful that the surgery was successful and was done under my then-employer's insurance.
At the moment I'm struggling to mentally recover from the four lost options and to get traction on restarting the search. I have been through this before, and God has always put me in a better place. I'm trying to stay positive, but could really use this community's support.
While you’re looking, also look at jobs that are easy to get and easy to leave. It is a lot easier to work a budget with something than nothing. If you have a home owners association, pay that. You do not want that nightmare. Trust me.
